Solberg celebrates sensational WRC win under challenging conditions in Estonia
31 Jul 2025
Oliver Solberg claimed a surprise win at the Delfi Rally Estonia from 18th to 21st July after a great performance in the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 – his first triumph in the FIA World Rally Championship. Together with British co-driver Elliott Edmondson, the 23-year-old Swede benefited from a perfect setup as he dominated the fast gravel stages around Tartu. The great performance of the Hankook tyres was underlined by the increasingly demanding and changeable weather conditions and a slippery surface on Sunday. Consistency, grip, and precision formed the basis for Solberg’s controlled drive to a 100th WRC win for Toyota. Ott Tänak finished second in the Hyundai, while his team-mate Thierry Neuville held on to third place after a time penalty. The FIA WRC will continue its European summer season with the Secto Rally Finland from 31st July to 3rd August – on particularly fast stages that demand maximum stability and grip from the Hankook premium tyres.
