Historic title for Strauven in Formula 4 Spain

04 Nov 2025

A weekend full of emotions: the Spanish Formula 4 championship lined up for the penultimate round of the season at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia from 17th to 19th October. Taking full advantage of the plentiful grip provided by the Hankook race tyre, Belgian Thomas Strauven claimed a spectacular lights-to-flag victory in the opening race. In doing so, he wrapped up the title with five races still remaining and set a new record: this was the earliest point in the season that any driver had won the championship. The 17-year-old driver again showcased his talent in race two, using the performance of the Hankook tyres to take a commanding first place. Victory in the third and final race of the weekend went to René Lammers from the Netherlands. Third place was enough for Belgian Ean Eykmans to be crowned champion rookie in 2025, with races still to come. The finale takes place from 14th to 16th November at Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.
