Hankook tyres impress at pre-season test for Formula E World Championship in Spain

04 Nov 2025

The official pre-season test for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship took place at the end of October at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in the Spanish city of Valencia. Teams and drivers spent four days preparing for the new season. In total, the 20 drivers from ten teams completed 5,474 laps over the course of six sessions. Switzerland’s Edoardo Mortara (Mahindra Racing) set the fastest time of the week in the final session, stopping the clock at 1:21.493 minutes. World champion Oliver Rowland (Nissan) and Taylor Barnard (DS PENSKE) were just behind him. Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche), champion in the 2023/24 season, began the test by setting a benchmark with an early fastest time – another indication of the strength in depth within Formula E. The Hankook GEN3 Evo iON Race tyre impressed in all conditions with consistent grip and high levels of efficiency. That allowed the teams to gather valuable data for the opening round of the season on 6th December in São Paulo (Brazil).

Another highlight took place on the Friday: 14 female drivers from all ten teams were given the opportunity to drive the Formula E cars and experience the performance of the Hankook tyres on the track for themselves – an important statement supporting the promotion of women in international motorsport.
